About Katena Products

As a tribute to her employees, Kate M. Tiedemann made a $5 million gift to Saint Clare's in 2005, to name the new Maternity Center.

Katena Products, Inc. was founded by Kate Tiedemann in 1975 and has been located in Denville for 22 years. It is the largest independently owned American company dedicated exclusively to ophthalmic surgical instrumentation.

Katena markets its products to more than 7,500 surgeons and hospitals in the United States and, through a global network of distributors, to more than 100 countries. Katena's commitment to producing the finest instruments for eye surgery and providing unexcelled service to its customers is the cornerstone of its foundation.

In honor of all those in the "Katena Family," this center for mothers and babies was lovingly dedicated on May 7, 2005, and a plaque graces the entrance as a permanent reminder of the ongoing support, commitment, and generosity of Kate Tiedemann and Katena Products.
