To address the acute mental health needs of adults, Saint Clare’s provides:

Adult Crisis Intervention Services (ACIS)
Adult Crisis Intervention Services is a voluntary, inpatient unit that provides behavioral health services to individuals in a crisis who are in need of inpatient hospitalization. Our services are delivered through a multi-disciplinary team – including a psychiatrist, social workers, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and behavioral health counselors – and include a variety of treatments such as group therapy, individual counseling, special activities and leisure counseling. The team’s goal is to assist individuals in developing coping skills to manage life crises and maintain wellness and recovery.

The Adult Crisis Intervention Services unit is available 24-hours per day. For more information, please call:

Partial Hospital Program (PHP) / Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The Partial Hospital Program and Intensive Outpatient Program offers short-term, intensive, highly structured behavioral health therapy programs.

The Partial Hospital Program is geared towards individuals in need of ongoing intensive treatment after a hospital admission, or because they may be at risk for hospitalization. The program is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Intensive Outpatient Program is a similar, but less intensive program. The program is available for three hours a day, up to five days a week. In both programs, group therapy is the primary mode of treatment.

Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit is an involuntary, inpatient unit that provides highly structured, intensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing serious behavioral, emotional, or psychological problems. The program offers treatment, resource linkages, and learning opportunities that relate to each person’s individual goals. All patients and families are treated with courtesy, consideration and respect for dignity and individuality, while focusing on the principles of wellness and recovery.

The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit serves Morris County adults over the age of 18. Admissions are processed 24-hours per day, seven days a week for those meeting admission criteria for this level of care.
