Association of Fundraising Professionals Honor Gale and Bruce Bott with Statewide Honor
Longtime Saint Clare’s supporters Bruce and Gale Bott were recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award at a luncheon held on May 14, 2013, at the Pines Manor in Edison. The AFP awards recognize area philanthropists and volunteers who have contributed to the welfare of individuals and the community.
The prestigious Outstanding Philanthropist Award is bestowed on nominees who display leadership and organizational ability in fundraising for non-profit organizations. The recipient of the award must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy as displayed through their participation with non-profit organizations.
Saint Clare’s has been the grateful beneficiary of the Botts support over the years. That support was evident as the $14 million Bott Family Surgical Pavilion at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville was opened in June 2011, representing both a technological leap forward and a strategic plan designed to ensure Saint Clare‘s remains a health care leader into the future. The pavilion features seven operating rooms that integrate industry-leading technologies and design features created to produce an effective, efficient surgical center. Philanthropic support from the Botts was critical to making this project a reality.
As current trustees of the Saint Clare’s Foundation, with Bruce serving as Vice Chair, the Botts are active in other initiatives, including Saint Clare’s Annual Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness, a five-kilometer charity walk that has raised more than $1 million for enhanced diagnosis and breast cancer treatment at Saint Clare’s hospitals. Their company, ADD Systems, which is headquartered in Flanders and provides computer solutions for the petroleum, propane and convenience store industries to a customer base that spans the U.S. and Canada, has been the title sponsor of the event for several years.
Saint Clare’s is deeply grateful to the Botts for their continued dedication and partnership, and is proud that they have been chosen to receive this distinguished award.
