Hope is alive and well for cancer patients in northwest New Jersey, as Cancer Care at Saint Clare's, the comprehensive oncology program of Saint Clare's Health System, officially unveils it's completely renovated outpatient center at Saint Clare's Hospital/Denville. Renewing its commitment to providing the highest quality cancer care services with the compassion and individualized care that patients have come to know, the completed outpatient center is the latest in a series of changes and improvement's to this comprehensive program.
"Saint Clare's has always played a major role in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in northwest New Jersey. With Cancer Care at Saint Clare's, we have rededicated ourselves to our community, to our cancer patients, both old and new, and to their care. The completed renovations to the outpatient center are a clear representation of our desire to be the region's leader in cancer treatment," says Gary J. Blan, President & CEO of Saint Clare's Health System. "Since last fall, through the hard work of a team of clinical professionals, cancer experts, and the support of our medical staff and employees, we have assembled the most advanced range of cancer services, supported by today's most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, and driven by the most talented and recognized cancer specialists in the region. The new face of our oncology program is designed to provide a level of cancer treatment traditionally found in large university hospitals, in the communities in which our patients live."
Providing a solid foundation for the program, Cancer Care at Saint Clare's patients have access to the advanced skill and recognized level of service of Donald F. Cann, M.D., Medical Director, and Durgesh Hajela, M.D., former MSKCC radiation oncologists, who lead the Cancer Care at Saint Clare's team in offering radiation oncology services in the region. Drs. Cann and Hajela will see patients at the outpatient center in Denville. Cancer patients will now be able to access the medical oncology services of Oncology & Hematology Specialists, P.A., Hematology-Oncology Associates of Northern New Jersey, and Usha Naranjan, M.D., leading medical oncology practices and medical oncologists who have committed to the prompt evaluation and treatment of Saint Clare's patients.
For medical oncology, the offices of Oncology & Hematology Specialists, P.A. Barry A. Reiter, M.D.; Stephen M. Schreibman, M.D.; Jason S. Levitz, M.D.; Naveed A. Jan, M.D.; Fazal Bari, M.D.; and Rashid Abbasi, M.D. have moved to the completed outpatient cancer center at 23 Pocono Road in Denville. The doctors of Hematology-Oncology Associates of Northern New Jersey David Gallinson, DO; Roshini George, DO; Michael Scola, M.D.; and Charles M. Farber, M.D., Ph.D. will see cancer patients at Saint Clare's ambulatory treatment facilities at Parsippany Commons on Route 46 East in Parsippany.
The renovated outpatient center and the enhanced program is a result of months of hard work in planning following the decision during 2006 by Saint Clare's to pursue other opportunities in both inpatient and outpatient cancer care. Saint Clare's continues to provide a full range of cancer care services, from screening and diagnostics to advanced treatments and support programs, all backed by a select team of medical and radiation oncologists and surgeons with extensive experience in the treatment of a broad array of cancers.
Cancer Care at Saint Clare's offers radiation therapy; medical, hematological and surgical oncology; inpatient care at Saint Clare's Hospital/Denville, outpatient care at hospital campuses in Denville, Dover and Sussex; cancer screenings; diagnostic testing and imaging (PET/CT, digital and conventional mammography); lymphedema therapy; complementary medicine; hospice care; and educational and support services.
"In the last decade, significant advances have been made in the fight against cancer, giving oncology patients new hope and renewed trust in their medical team. The new center and a stronger Cancer Care at Saint Clare's program is a transformation of our comprehensive oncology program into a stronger, more effective suite of services and offerings that goes beyond treating the cancer to supporting the patient throughout their cancer care experience," says Josh Ratner, Director of Business Development & Ambulatory Services. "Our talented staff of oncology and clinical professionals, equipped with advanced technology for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, is poised to provide comprehensive cancer care with the compassion and individualized attention that has always been our hallmark."
