At Saint Clare’s, we understand the importance of giving women facing a breast cancer diagnosis not just the newest advances in cancer care, but guidance, answers and emotional support. Our growing team of breast cancer specialists focuses on each patient to determine the best course of treatment, employing advanced technology such as digital mammography and mammosite targeted radiation therapy. At the same time, a dedicated oncology patient specialist, known as a nurse navigator, is there every step of the way – from diagnosis to recovery – to provide patients and their families with critical emotional support and educational resources on how to move forward after receiving a cancer diagnosis.

Saint Clare’s also offers a full spectrum of breast health, screening and diagnostic services – comprehensive, life-savings services that identify cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage – all under one roof.

Breast Cancer Treatment and Technology
Our accomplished medical and radiation oncologists, surgeons, and other cancer care experts provide access to the most advanced procedures and technology available.

Treatment options include:

Chemotherapy is a mixture of drugs that treat cancer systemically. Saint Clare's offers chemotherapy services through accomplished medical oncologists.

Hormonal Therapy is a form of systemic therapy that is often used to help decrease the risk of cancer returning after surgery. Both drugs and surgical procedures can be used to change hormone levels.

Radiation Therapy: Saint Clare’s offers the region’s most advanced radiation treatment and technology for various types of cancers. Our accomplished radiation oncologists utilize the following treatment protocols and therapy delivery technologies: Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Mammosite Brachytherapy - targeted radiation therapy for breast cancer. Read more about this treatment option on our website’s Patient Care Services page.

Breast Surgery: Patients have access to Saint Clare’s physicians and surgeons dedicated to providing leading-edge, comprehensive care for those with breast cancer. Saint Clare’s cancer care team works with patients to navigate diagnosis, surgery and after care. Saint Clare’s offers regular breast cancer tumor boards, where all breast care specialists – including nurse navigators, surgeons, pathologists, plastic surgeons, oncologists, and radiation oncologists - meet to discuss the most current topics in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, while consulting on difficult cases. Patients can be referred to a member of the panel for consultation and treatment.

In addition to traditional medicine, the Cancer Care program at Saint Clare’s offers nutritional counseling, genetic counseling, community outreach and education programs, and other supportive services to help cancer patients and their families cope with the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges posed by cancer.
