One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. At Saint Clare’s, we understand the importance of giving women facing this diagnosis not just the newest advances in cancer care, but guidance, answers and emotional support. Our growing team of breast cancer specialists focuses on each patient to determine the best course of treatment, employing advanced technology such as digital mammography and mammosite targeted radiation therapy. At the same time, a dedicated oncology patient specialist, known as a nurse navigator, is there every step of the way – from diagnosis to recovery – to provide patients and their families with critical emotional support and educational resources on how to move forward after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
Through The Women’s Health Center, Saint Clare’s also offers a full spectrum of breast health, screening and diagnostic services – comprehensive, life-savings services that identify cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage – all under one roof.

Through The Women's Health Center at Saint Clare's Hospital/Dover, patients can access Saint Clare’s physicians and surgeons dedicated to providing leading edge, comprehensive care for those with breast cancer. Saint Clare’s cancer care team works with our patients to navigate diagnosis, surgery and after care. Saint Clare’s offers regular breast cancer tumor boards, where all breast care specialists – including nurse navigators, surgeons, pathologists, plastic surgeons, oncologists, and radiation oncologists - meet to discuss the most current topics in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, while consulting on difficult cases. Patients can be referred to a member of the panel for consultation and treatment.
In addition to traditional medicine, the Cancer Care program at Saint Clare’s offers nutritional counseling, genetic counseling, community outreach and education programs, and other supportive services to help cancer patients and their families cope with the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges posed by cancer.
At the same time, complementary medicine is available through The Women’s Health Center – including massage, yoga, Reflexology, acupuncture, Guided Imagery, and a Prepare for Surgery Program.
Our Cancer Care Team
Our growing team of breast cancer specialists focuses on each patient to determine the best course of treatment. To guide patients and their families through Saint Clare’s comprehensive cancer care program, oncology specialists, known as nurse navigators, are there every step of the way. Nurse navigators provide patients and their families with critical emotional support and educational resources on how to move forward after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
