Fashion Fight for a Cure Event Raises $60,000 Net to Benefit Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s

The second annual Fashion Fight for a Cure, a fashion show and fundraising event hosted by DePasquale the Spa, drew a crowd of more than 400 supporters, and raised $60,000 net for Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s.
Fashion Fight for a Cure, held at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, NJ on October 2, 2011, included a top-notch fashion show with five runway shows, an exclusive silent auction, and a $10,000 50/50 raffle.
The sold out event drew support from local businesses, celebrities, and community members in Morris County and the surrounding area – all uniting to raise awareness and funds for the battle against cancer.
All proceeds from the event benefit Cancer Care at Saint Clare's, the comprehensive oncology program of Saint Clare's Health System.

“It’s a beautiful thing to get everyone in the salon together to contribute. It’s really important for us all to do something – even if it’s just one thing – and raise some money so that way we can kick this disease, find a cure, and in the meantime, make people in hospitals as equipped as possible to deal with it as best as they can,” said Justin DePasquale, co-owner and director of DePasquale the Spa.
The event is inspired by David DePasquale, MD, a staff obstetrician-gynecologist at Saint Clare’s Health System for 11 years, who succumbed to cancer two years ago. This year’s event was held in memory of Tatayana Petrushkevich, an employee of DePasquale the Spa for more than 15 years, who lost her battle to cancer at age 50, earlier this year.
“This is an outstanding event for Saint Clare’s, and I just cannot say enough about it.
The fact that folks like the DePasquales and others, and so many people that are out here today, are raising money for cancer and to look for a cure, is a wonderful tribute to the family and a great thing for the community. At Saint Clare’s, we can’t be more appreciative,” said Leslie D. Hirsch, president and CEO of Saint Clare’s Health System.
