Disability Coverage The Short-Term Disability Plan provides replacement income if sickness or injury prevents an employee from working scheduled hours. Long-term disability coverage, available to all full-time employees, provides monthly benefits for continued disability (past 120 days) due to illness or injury. Eligibility starts the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
Flexible Spending Accounts Two Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options allow you to set aside tax-free dollars to pay for out of pocket health care and dependent care expenses. Saint Clare’s offers:
• Medical expense accounts with a maximum annual contribution of $3,000. • Dependent care accounts with a maximum annual contribution of $5,000.
Planning for Retirement It’s never too early to start thinking about retirement—even for employees just starting out. Saint Clare’s and Catholic Health Initiatives help employees make the most of their retirement goals. Each year, a contribution of 5% of annual eligible pay, which increases up to 10% based on years of service, is made to the employee’s retirement account based on years of service.
Employees earn interest on account balances and one year of vesting is accrued for each calendar year in which the employee works at least 1,000 hours. After five years, employees are fully vested in the CHI Retirement Plan account. For the sliding scale of contribution percentages, refer to the Employee Handbook.
Additionally, employees can take advantage of Saint Clare's Employee Savings Plan, a 403(b) plan which enables employees to save for retirement now and pay taxes later by investing a portion of their eligible pay in the plan. The plan offers a wide array of investment options.
Tuition Assistance Saint Clare’s encourages employees to advance their careers by expanding their knowledge.
• For full-time employees, we provide reimbursement up to $4,000 per fiscal year. • Part-time employees can receive up to $2,000 per fiscal year.
Time off As part of our commitment to supporting employees in maintaining a healthy work/life balance, Saint Clare’s offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
