Northwest Radiology Associates, P.A. Becomes Participating Provider With Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
In an effort to better serve the needs of the community, Northwest Radiology Associates, P.A., Saint Clare's largest credentialed provider of diagnostic imaging services, is pleased to announce that it has become a participating network provider of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ), effective January 1, 2008.
With the addition of Northwest Radiology to the Horizon BCBSNJ network, Horizon BCBSNJ members will now benefit from the highest form of coverage because of the mutual participation of both Saint Clare's and Northwest Radiology Associates. Diagnostic imaging studies are performed at Saint Clare's Hospitals in Denville, Dover and Sussex, as well as the Saint Clare's Imaging Center at Parsippany Commons. This network participation agreement also includes Northwest Radiology's community-based facilities Magnetic Imaging of Morris, P.A. in Mountain Lakes and MRI of West Morris, P.A. in Succasunna.
"After extended discussion and consideration, we are pleased to become part of the Horizon BCBSNJ network and welcome Horizon BCBSNJ members to Saint Clare's and to our radiology facilities for their diagnostic imaging studies," says Jeffrey Wexler, M.D., President of Northwest Radiology Associates, P.A. "Through this new relationship with Horizon BCBSNJ, Northwest Radiology and Saint Clare's can now meet patient demand for a seamless care experience, including eliminating major concerns regarding their insurance coverage."
All Saint Clare's diagnostic imaging facilities are linked with one another through Saint Clare's advanced Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). The system allows for prompt review of new studies, easy access to previous studies, and simple transfer of images between facilities. In addition, as an added convenience to the patient's physician, the Saint Clare's PACS offers secure remote access to patient studies. Traditionally, diagnostic imaging studies done in the hospital or hospital-related setting are of higher quality. Having images done at a hospital allows for immediate access to previous images for comparison, and, in the event of future hospitalizations, allows for treatment to be initiated immediately if needed.
"This new relationship between Northwest Radiology and Horizon BCBSNJ will best serve the needs of our mutual customers," explained David Lundquist, Chief Operating Officer for Saint Clare's Health System. "We are pleased that these accomplished radiologists have chosen to become part of the provider network of New Jersey's largest health insurer. Their cumulative experience in the execution, analysis and reporting of diagnostic imaging studies is unparalleled, and this highly qualified group has provided their services to countless Saint Clare's patients for over 30 years. It is a benefit to our patients, and to the community, that Horizon BCBSNJ members can receive the highest form of coverage for their imaging procedures at Saint Clare's."
