Our Services

Appointments: 1-888-808-1234

Our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services include advanced technology in every area of imaging. We offer the following services:

Bone Density Studies
Bone density studies are the most common diagnostic tool for diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and other bone abnormalities. Osteoporosis is a condition of deterioration in bone strength. If diagnosed early, the potential for subsequent fractures can often be prevented. We offer the latest in bone density scanning technology, providing radiologists and physicians with a clear comparison of a patient’s bone density over time.

Computed Tomography (CT)
CT is a diagnostic procedure that creates cross-sectional, three-dimensional images of the entire body which are valuable in diagnosing and treating many diseases and conditions. Our technology includes a 64-slice scanner that offers some of the most advanced imaging for the non-invasive diagnosis of a variety of medical conditions with high-resolution, high-speed imaging at a low dose. We also have staff radiologists that specialize in CT-guided procedures including:

  • CT guided biopsies
  • CT virtual colonoscopy
  • CT abscess drainages
  • CT cryoablation
  • CT cyst aspirations
  • CT 4D Parathyroid

Digital X-ray Imaging and Fluoroscopy
We offer diagnostic imaging services for routine x-rays and fluoroscopy studies, including the latest, high-quality, digital x-ray – film-free technology that allows the radiologist to review the image within moments, resulting in quicker diagnosis and treatment. We offer many different types of studies, including:

  • General X-rays
  • Fluoroscopy studies, such as upper gastrointestinal (GI), barium enema, lumbar punctures, and voiding cysto urethrograms (VCUG)
  • Specialized procedures, such as peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line insertion, central venous pressure (CVP) lines, nephrostomy tubes, transperotoneal prostate biopsy, and biliary drainages

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is a diagnostic test that uses magnetic fields and radiofrequency waves rather than radiation. It produces highly-detailed, cross-sectional images of the body, and is especially useful in imaging the brain, muscles, spine, and joints. Additional MRI-guided procedures we offer include:

  • MRI-guided breast biopsies
  • MRI arthrograms

Digital Mammography
Mammography is the choice of physicians for screening and diagnosis of breast cancer. Mammograms can show tumors long before they are large enough to be felt by patients or physicians. Saint Clare's provides a fully accredited mammography program at its Denville, Dover, and Sussex locations, as well as the Imaging Center at Parsippany Commons. Licensed female technologists perform low-dose, digital mammography and diagnostic ultrasounds. Board-certified radiologists, with experience and special training in interpreting mammograms and breast ultrasounds, read test results. For suspicious lumps, ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsy is available. Follow the link to read more about the breast health services provided through The Women’s Health Center.

Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine studies are used to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases, including various forms of cancer. Nuclear medicine scanners obtain images after a small amount of radioactive material has been absorbed by the body, providing information about body functions and structures. Through our robust thyroid cancer program, our radiologists and nuclear medicine specialists offer full services for comprehensive thyrogen and iodine therapy programs. Some of the procedures we offer as part of our nuclear medicine program include:

  • Bone scans
  • Renal scans
  • Cardiac function scans
  • I-131 thyroid scans
  • Thyrogen injections
  • DATScans

Positron-Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT)
PET/CT is innovative imaging technology that is especially useful in detecting, staging and monitoring cancers. By combining PET and CT scanning, anatomical images along with metabolic cell activity can be aligned and correlated. The procedures we offer include:

  • Whole body PET/CT scans
  • PET/CT skull to mid-thigh scans
  • Sodium fluoride PET/CT scans, breakthrough technology used to better identify bone metastasis in breast and prostate cancer patients
  • Brain PET/CT scans, which can assist in determining dementia and Alzheimer’s disease

Ultrasounds
Diagnostic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce precise images of structures within your body, valuable in diagnosing and treating certain diseases. Ultrasound studies are used to visualize muscles and internal organs, their size, structures and possible physical abnormalities. Ultrasound can also be used during pregnancy to monitor growth, physical health, and to diagnose maternal or fetal abnormalities. Using the latest in high-resolution ultrasound, many different parts of the body can be examined. Some of the procedures we offer include:

  • Abdominal ultrasound
  • Renal ultrasound
  • Pelvic ultrasound (OB and non-OB)
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Vascular ultrasound
  • Thyroid/neck ultrasound
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound

Additional ultrasound-guided minimally invasive procedures include:

  • Paracentesis
  • Thoracentesis
  • Thyroid biopsies
  • Breast biopsies
  • Breast operating room localization
