Gaines M. Mimms, MD, FAAP, Director of Neonatology at Saint Clare's Health System, provides specialized neonatal care for infants who require treatment in our Level II Special Care Nursery. Treatment is provided in conjunction with a team of board-certified neonatologists.
Barbara Girz, DO, MPH, FACOG, Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Clare's Health System, is a board-certified OB/GYN and perinatologist who specializes in at-risk pregnancies.
Ellie Zaleski, RN, BSPA, ICCE, Maternity Educator, is a Registered Nurse who will assist new parents in making arrangements for childbirth at Saint Clare's, inform them of educational classes available, and coordinate efforts to meet any special needs they may have.
Rachel Smith, RN, IBCLC, Lactation Consultant, teaches the prenatal breastfeeding classes, visits new mothers in the hospital after delivery, and is available for any questions after discharge.
All of the Center's nurses are certified in BCLS, NRP, PALS and completely qualified to care for mothers and their newborns.
