Pre- and Post-Natal Maternity Services

 

Pregnancy is one of life’s most magical journeys. Yet it is also a time of changes, some eagerly embraced and others less welcome. As you navigate through each trimester and the post-partum period, the Center for Complementary Medicine offers an array of nurturing services that foster tranquility, peace and enhanced well-being.

Pre-Natal Massage

The sensitive nurturing touch of our therapists can melt away the aches of pregnancy. Our knowledge and clinical background allows you to safely relax and enjoy the benefits of our calming touch.
60 Minute Massage: $75 ($60 employee)

Post-Natal Massage
Postnatal massage helps the new mom adjust to the physical and emotional demands of caring for a new baby while helping to bring her body back to its pre-pregnancy shape. If the baby is delivered at the Katena Center for Mother and Child at Saint Clare’s Hospital/Denville, appointments may be arranged in the patient room to provide the most immediate benefit post-delivery. The post-natal massage is also available up to ten weeks past delivery at the Center for Complementary Medicine.
30 Minutes: $40

New Father Massage
New father's can feel the stress and excitment of a new birth as well, so massages can be purchased for them while the baby is still at the Katena Center for Mother and Child at Saint Clare's Hospital/Denville.  Provide them with the special attention and relaxation that they may need before bringing baby home.
30 Minutes: $40

Couples Massages for New Parents
Available while recuperating at the Katena Center for Mother and Child, couples can experience the relaxation and health benefits of a couples massage, a wonderful bonding experience after the delivery of a new child. The new mother will receive a post-natal massage designed for their changing body, while the new father experiences the benefits of one of our massage therapies. Appointments may be scheduled in the patient room at the Katena Center for Mother and Child.
30 Minutes: $75 per couple

Baby's First Massage
Before leaving the Katena Center for Mother and Child, learn a full body routine for your baby that teaches a 15-step, gentle massage for a newborn.  Massage therapy helps to relax and calm babies, as well as assist with digestion and enhancing bonding with parents.  Couples will recieve instruction from our certified massage therapists on infant massage and its benefits, which include reduced crying, calming techniques and early infant communication.  Appointments may be scheduled in the patient room at the Katena Center for Mother and Child.
30 Minutes: $35  per couple

Infant Massage Class
The instructional group class held at the Center for Complementary Medicine teaches parents how they can give a gentle massage to their new baby, including massage techniques for legs, feet, abdomen, arms, chest and the back. This 90-minute class will also teach techniques to help ease gas, promote deeper sleep and facilitate the bonding process.
Group Rate: $45
Private Session: $75

Gift Certificates Available: Relaxation can be a wonderful gift for a new parent. Massages can be arranged at the hospital, or parents may choose to use after returning home for a welcome break. You may purchase a gift certificates can be purchased by calling the Center for Complementary Medicine at 973-989-3607.
