Preventative & Emergency Services
Saint Clare’s Psychiatric Emergency Services provides prompt assessment, crisis intervention and referrals for people in crisis. Our programs include:
Any person in a state of emotional crisis in which immediate psychiatric intervention is needed will receive psychiatric emergency services. Patients from Morris County will be a priority of the service. However, any patient seeking service will be seen. Patients seeking referral by telephone who indicate a potential for medical emergency, such as an overdose or self-inflicted injury, will be referred to the nearest hospital emergency room. Any person age 18 or older who is deemed to be a danger to themselves or others will be seen by the Psychiatric Screening Service, and by Mobile Outreach if involuntary. Patients will be assessed and treated in the least restrictive setting which is clinically appropriate to the patient’s mental and physical condition.
If you are in crisis, please call our 24-hour Psychiatric Emergency Services hotline at 973-625-0280.
