Route 46 Bridge in Dover Reopens
January 20, 2011
At Saint Clare’s Health System, we are committed to the care and well-being of the members of our community.
We realize that the construction on the Route 46 Bridge in Dover will serve as an inconvenience for patients, visitors, staff and members of the local community, and have worked directly with The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJ DOT) on updates so we can assist in making this construction period as smooth as possible.
NJ DOT and the town of Dover have confirmed that the Route 46 Bridge over the Rockaway River and NJ Transit has reopened to traffic as of January 20, 2011, with one lane open in each direction. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained through the remaining stages of the project, with full project completion set for the end of 2011.
Concurrent with the bridge opening, the next stage of construction will begin which necessitates the closing of Pequannock Street to through traffic between Route 46 and Route 15 (Clinton Street).
The existing Route 46 Bridge had been closed and traffic detoured starting in July 2010. To learn more about the bridge closure and any detours, please visit the NJ DOT website or the Town of Dover website.
At Saint Clare’s Health System, we are committed to creating the best experience possible for our patients and visitors. It’s just one more way that Saint Clare’s is Turning Promise Into Practice every day.
