Saint Clare’s Health System debuts its new Tiedemann Center for Ambulatory Surgery to patients and their families on July 16, featuring 18 beds, two new nursing stations, as well as enhanced waiting areas for families and visitors.  The new Center was made possible by a generous contribution from longtime Saint Clare’s supporter Kate Tiedemann, and was unveiled at a dedication and blessing ceremony on July 11.

The completely renovated space also includes advanced technology, including a 50” patient tracking board which using a private identification number allows physicians to check the status of their case, and family members to follow their loved one’s medical procedure and recovery.

“We are eternally grateful to Kate Tiedemann for another generous gift to Saint Clare’s,” said Leslie D. Hirsch , Saint Clare’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Along with our $14 million Bott Family Surgical Pavilion, the Tiedemann Center for Ambulatory Surgery provides our patients with the latest in surgical care in an updated and comfortable environment.”

The Bott Family Surgical Pavilion, which opened last July – features more than 20,000 square feet of advanced surgical space, including seven state-of-the-art Operating Rooms.  Showcasing sophicated technology such as the latest in robotic surgery with the da Vinci Si Dual Console Surgical System

“These facilities ensure that our surgeons have the most contemporary facilities and leading-edge equipment to treat our patients,” said Dr. Lawrence Friedman, chairman of the Saint Clare’s Department of Surgery.  “On behalf of the Department of Surgery, I’d also like to thank Kate Tiedemann for making this new Center possible. Her generous spirit will benefit all who come to Saint Clare’s seeking surgical treatment for generations to come.”

Kate Tiedemann has been a strong supporter of the services and projects at Saint Clare’s Health System.  In 2005, she advanced the maternity care at Saint Clare’s Health System with a gift of $5 million to the Katena Center for Mother and Child, a state-of-the-art facility, which features 23 all-private mother/baby suites featuring hotel-like amenities, as well as a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, Newborn Nursery; concierge service and many other features.
