Saint Clare's Doctor Discusses Lyme Disease Prevention in New Jersey Herald Article
July 2010
Saint Clare’s Health System’s Dr. Sami Yasin, an infectious disease and internal medicine specialist, recently provided helpful information on the telltale signs of Lyme disease in a New Jersey Herald features article.
The article details a Sussex County, New Jersey resident’s battle with Lyme disease – which likely developed after being bitten by a Lyme-carrying tick in the backyard of his Wantage home – and the care he received from Dr. Yasin.
According to Dr. Yasin, Lyme disease is prevalent in Sussex County due to its rural location; earlier in the month, Dr. Yasin diagnosed six cases of Lyme disease in one week alone – a number which, he says, is not out of the ordinary. So far this year, 934 cases of Lyme disease have been diagnosed throughout the state of New Jersey.
