Saint Clare’s Executive Receives Nurse Executive Award

Suellyn Ellerbe Honored by Organization of Nurse Executives of New Jersey

Saint Clare’s Health System Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer Suellyn Ellerbe received the Organization of Nurse Executives of New Jersey (ONE/NJ) Nurse Executive Award, which was presented to the most senior nurse executive in acute care, continuing care or academia who demonstrates exceptional leadership, guidance and service to their institution and to the profession of nursing.

Ellerbe received the award at the ONE/NJ Annual Awards Brunch on December 9 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, New Jersey.

Ellerbe brings over thirty years experience in healthcare leadership to Saint Clare’s Health System. Successfully operating her own consulting practice for ten years before joining Saint Clare’s in June 2009, she assisted healthcare organizations with operational functions such as patient care re-design, strategic planning and more.

In addition to her work with her consulting business, Suellyn also served in leadership positions at community and major teaching medical centers, including Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was Senior Executive, Patient Care Services.  She also served as Vice President, Patient Care Operations at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

The Organization of Nurse Executives/New Jersey (ONE/NJ) is affiliated with the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) and is also affiliated with the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).   ONE/NJ exists to represent and strengthen nurse leaders and aspiring nurse leaders by providing opportunities for professional networking, education, mentorship and consultation.  To learn more, please visit
