Saint Clare's Health System Offers Dial-up Seminar on Advances in Treatment of Breast Cancer

Free series, Strong and Smart: Living Well With Cancer, supports cancer survivors, patients
Community members can learn about advances in breast cancer care at 1 p.m. ET on October 18. To register for the free one-hour educational event, call 800-278-7837.
Advances in the Treatment of Breast Cancer is part of the Strong and Smart: Living Well With Cancer dial-up seminar series. Participants listen via phone, view presentations online and ask questions of presenting experts.
The October seminar will cover:
- Partial breast irradiation and intra-operative radiotherapy
- Nipple-sparing mastectomies
- Targeted endocrine and chemotherapy
Presenter and breast surgeon Dr. Toni Green is the medical director of the breast oncology program for Penrose St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, Colo. Dr. Green joined Penrose-St. Francis in August of 2010 and has quickly become a leader in the community as a result of her work caring for and supporting women with breast cancer.
“The medical advances in breast cancer treatment are amazing,” said Deirdre Cahill, Saint Clare’s Health System executive director, oncology and radiology. “During this seminar, patients can learn about the latest in breast cancer treatment from an expert who believes in providing the best care possible to women with breast cancer.”
The Strong and Smart: Living Well With Cancer dial-up seminar series is presented by Saint Clare’s Health System. This education series is offered in collaboration with other Catholic Health Initiatives hospitals. A goal of the series is to make education and information more readily available to a greater number of cancer patients in our community.
