Open your heart… volunteer! Volunteers are essential members of our healthcare team. Without the more than 800 volunteers at Saint Clare's, we could not offer the full range of services that we currently provide. Volunteers provide the warmth, care and compassion that often makes the difference. Our volunteers are from a variety of age groups and a diverse assortment of backgrounds, making the volunteer experience especially fulfilling.
Our volunteer coordinators work to match volunteers with responsibilities that meet their interests while meeting the hospitals' needs. For those who wish to work directly with patients, your volunteer work might include courier service, emergency room assistance, flower and mail delivery or patient transport. In non-patient areas, there are volunteer opportunities in central supply, medical records, pharmacy, gift shop, reception desk and the volunteer office.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, and comprehensive training is provided related to specific responsibilities and assignments. Volunteers are required to wear uniforms, and the weekly commitment is two to four hours. Morning, afternoon, and evening assignments are available, and a meal voucher is provided for volunteers who fulfill their shift requirement.
