Our Technology

The Women's Health Center offers a fully accredited mammography program. Licensed female technologists perform low-dose mammograms and diagnostic ultrasounds. Board-certified radiologists with experience and special training in interpreting mammograms and breast ultrasounds read test results. For suspicious lumps, both ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsy are available.

The Women's Health Center is the first in northwest New Jersey to provide state-of-the-art digital mammography, the "gold standard" in breast imaging. Answering the increased demand of women for this enhanced breast scan, Saint Clare's introduced a second digital mammography machine in early 2006. Shorter test times and the decreased need for repeat testing, enables The Women's Health Center to serve many more women who need mammograms.

If a screening reveals the need for additional diagnostic tests, they can often be performed during the same appointment. A nurse advocate is available to guide women through this process and provide education and support along the way.
