Our outpatient treatment programs meet each patient's individual needs, varying in the degree of intensity they offer. With four different programs, we have the flexibility to place patient in the appropriate level, according to their clinical needs, and move easily from level to level as they progress in their treatment. Some patients may be placed directly in the outpatient program from the onset of treatment; others may "step down" from a more intensive program. Our outpatient programs include:

Ambulatory Detoxification (Opioid Treatment Program)
Our Ambulatory Detoxification Program (Opioid Treatment Program) provides intensive day services six days a week. The program is designed to provide treatment to opioid dependent patients (heroin, OxyContin, Percocet, etc.), allowing them to achieve safe and comfortable withdrawal and to assist them in obtaining ongoing treatment and recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Patients attend the IOP program for three hours a day, for up to five days a week. Group therapy is the primary form of treatment. Each patient is assessed to determine their specific psychiatric, social and activity needs, with special attention to the levels of alcohol and/or drug use. Staff conducts an initial assessment of patients, and services are modified to provide both treatment and education about substance abuse. The assessment is also used to develop a customized treatment plan.

Traditional Outpatient
Our traditional outpatient services include relapse prevention, group therapy, and individual therapy. Outpatient care is provided to patients who have demonstrated significant positive change in their behavior, including the ability to begin and maintain the newly acquired skills they learned at higher levels of care.

Co-Occurring Disorders Enhanced/Outpatient Program (CODE/OP)
The CODE/OP is a specialized program for people who suffer from mental illness and chemical abuse. Its goal is to assist participants in the management of their illnesses, to increase their level of functioning, and to decrease psychiatric/alcohol and/or drug relapses or hospital admissions. Services include assessment, education, individual, group and family therapy. Referrals to other services are made when appropriate, and staff provides education and consultation upon request.

For crisis assessment, intervention and referrals, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, please call a member of our Psychiatric Emergency Services team at 973-625-0280.
