Recognizing the special needs of our young patients, it is our goal to limit the stresses of hospital treatment on children and get them back to their normal daily routine as quickly and realistically as possible.
Opened in April 2008, the $3.2 million, 6,755 square foot Roberta C. Ferguson Pediatric Center offers a state-of-the-art, modern care facility for pediatric patients throughout northwest New Jersey. The Ferguson Center is also supported by a dedicated children’s emergency center, The Evelyn M. Spiro Pediatric Emergency Center, and the Children’s Neurology and Epilepsy Center.
This 20-bed facility features six private rooms and seven semi-private rooms and is equipped with the latest medical equipment. For those children undergoing neurological testing, the Ferguson Center is the first pediatric center in the region to utilize wireless EEG equipment for the monitoring and diagnosis of epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
The new Center, which has been specifically designed and decorated with children in mind features a new reception and welcome area; a functional treatment room for minor, on-unit procedures; a Family Center and meeting room for private consultations; and the Toys ‘R’ Us/Starlight Starbright Foundation multi-purpose interactive play area.
